Hi All,
I've finished the Mineral Street Yard for the Springfield Terminal route I've been working on. The yard includes the STRy's carbarn and general offices, a few smaller customers, and is surrounded by the J. T. Slack shoddy mill.
1 Springfield Terminal 20 rounds the curve at the intersection of Clinton, Main, and Mineral Streets to head up to the Mineral Street Yard.
2 The grade up Mineral Street exceeds 4% and restricts mainline and yard activities.
3 After leaving their train in the short run-around the crew crosses Mineral Street and lifts two boxcars from the Railway Express Agency and an empty hopper from Slack's coal trestle.
4 After lifting the empty hopper the crew heads back to the run-around, passing the Springfield Terminal's head office.
5 With the last car spotted at the REA the crew crosses Mineral Street once more before assembling their train for the return trip to Springfield Junction.
6 STRy 20 heads back to the Boston and Maine interchange from Mineral Street. The crew will stop along the way and lift any outbound cars as required.
Paul :-)
