This series of screenshots was the first time I got creative doing a steam train run in Canada. As I mentioned in my last topic on GTW 6325, the only steam engins this I could find for Canadian National was GTW 6325, a smaller version, or two that are used by Strasburg. But as I said, imagination rules. This one is of Canadian Pacific Royal Hudson 2860 running the Canadian National Blackfoot/Vegerville Subdivision. The route itself can be downloaded from either train-sim or Mophouse. The locomotive came from the Canadian Pacific Steam Heritage pak from Train-sim. This was a payware pack turned freeware. The train itself was made up of a combination of cars available with the CPR heritage pack or from trainsets available from the Canadian Pacific website itsel. They include the 1955 Canadian, The Royal Canadian Pacific, and the Empiress trainset.

And now the shots.

1. We start west of Vergerville, Alberta in the early moring light.

2. Leaving Vegerville, it passes Elk Park.

3. Here is a shot of the Mt. Stehen and the rear of the train.

4. This is what I call a chase shot. I gives the fell of being a train chaser from the road.

5. Now it's cruising the Alberta countryside.

6. Now it's in the town of Loydminster. This town borders the providences of Alberta and Sakatchewan.

7. Now the train is passing one of many detectors along this particular route. Thankfully, no alarms were set off.

Enjoy!

I wish that I had the patience to run more steam myself. Your shot number six is quite nice.
