It's that time of the year again when the weather is far from hospitable and the cold outside seems to cause an epidemic of the common cold. When that happens many people turn to what seems like gallons of Orange Juice. To help supply the need Tropicana in Bradenton Florida starts working overtime. It is just coincidence that it just happens to be the time when the harvest of oranges down this way is at it's peak.

The time is 8:45 on a cool December's morning when the north bound Juice Train starts to ease out of the yard on its dash to the cold northern markets. The outside temperature stand at, for a Floridian brisk 52 degrees as the Seaboard Coast line train eases out onto the east bound main.

Within minutes the GE U Boats have brought the train up to track speed as the train heads east towards Plant City near the Hillsboro/Polk County line.

At Plant City the train transfers to the north bound main heading towards Wildwood and then after a crew transfer on to Jacksonville miles beyond, and from there on to the cold cities of the north.

The route is Carey Steven's ACL Florida Division with alterations and plenty of help from my friends.

Continuing to follow the Juice Train north between Plant City and Dade City on it's way to Wildwood and the crew change point.

Those are some great screenshots there. I'm very familar with the Tropicana trains. I've seen them either in Ashland, Greendale (Richmond Amtrak station), or in Petersburg. I might have to do some for the RF&P portion.

Great pics, Paul, as usual!

I have the same set of SCL U-boats, and hope to get them working on this line again soon.

Nice shots---it's always nice to see that SCL livery represented. Thanks For Choosing Coast Line!

I wish someone---hint hint, BLW/ZT---would make an ACL/SAL/SCL passenger set.

Very nice Paul - could do with some of that warmth this side of the pond. Do you have the ESLW Tropicana set? Very nice (apart from the grafitti  )

On the SCL set, you never know, Gaetan is always looking around for inspiration...

Lol, nice.

I like the SCL Logo there "Pulling for you", lol. Pulling the oranges for us, pulling for us to get better and over those winter colds, pulling trains right into the path of dade city sheriffs for us! lol.

And I hear ya about the whole common cold thing, just getting over one myself <.<.
