The project for the weekend was to take another look-see at RS with its recent patches and fixes.

I converted a few of my MSTS models and did some experimenting.

I appologize for the default gloomy atmosphere - I am sure there's a fix it but I haven't found it yet. Anyway, here's a couple of shots of some familiar models in unfamiliar surroundings.

Nice to see some trolley stuff in RS,

I'm missing it a lot and keeps me from creating routes in it...

Coincidentally, I reinstalled my copy after the crash, mainly to have some time to come up for air during the process of restoring my system, and also to see what difference the MkII patch made. I'm much more impressed than I was with the Demo version, impressed enough that I'm likely to be developing add-ons for this platform, as well as for MSTS. Your models look quite nice in this platform... -Phil

Hi the gloomy sky can be changed in the weather section of RS. How's that converted traction engine working in RS? Love to try it out! Heard MSTS rolling stock conversions don't do well in RS

Very impressive Wayne. I have been spending more and more time in the sim and have come to the conclusion that for small switching routes it is absolutely ideal. No problem with the path setting difficulties that seem to dog high speed routes - switching is all at a slower pace and alows plenty of time to ensure there are no "automatic" switch derailments. Better still - all manual switches and no derailments whilst running through a trailing switch. Good visuals and good detail.

The Box Motor looks good.

I love seeing your stuff in RS. I'm still finding it hard to get my mind around the export for RS. I'm sure it's simpler than in looks, especially once you've done it once or twice. Any advice for the rest of us on what the pitfalls might be? I'm still waiting for someone to lead the way. Once I've done it once or twice, I expect to have an avalanche of stuff that I think will look just fine in RS and I even intend to have a go at route building.

Looks great, Wayne, but ol' L1 looks kind of forlorn with her pans down!

How about some new trees for your route, Wayne? :sorry:
