It looks like I'll be presenting something along the lines of "What's happening with V Scale" at a model railroading conference in January, down at Cocoa Beach, Florida. They're mostly an offshoot of the freight car mafia, but with broader interests towards trying to acheive the most realistic expressions of model railroading. Maybe 300 people attending. IMO one can't do much better in acheiving a realisitic look than what we're doing in SIM's, but those guys are, for the most part, completely ignorant of rail sims. So I'm trying to give them a state of the art introduction... which leads to my request:

Could you let me know if I can use any of your screenshots and/or take my own shots from your route and / or equipment in this presentation? I'll be looking for the best examples I can find but anything that can show something in a sim along with an image of the real thing would be very, very useful too. For example, a sim locomotive or car and a photo of the same thing, using the same angle.

What I hope to accomplish is to (1) inform, (2) legitimize in the minds of the audience that v-scale is a valid expression of model railroading, and maybe (3) discuss the possibility that V-scale will be rather big in the future of model railroading.

Specific contributions of images for this purpose will be most welcome.

If I can identify people, the images will be credited to the modeler and contributor in the handout; any payware will be noted as such and url included.

Thanks!

Dave, you would be welcome to any of mine - mostly my stuff is now of Gaetan's stock, posted over at Trainsim and Valleypass as promos for Gaetan's packs - but some of my shots are more "artistic" on the odd occassion. Get in touch if there are any you want to use - sounds very interesting.

Dave;

I don't think that anyone who has posted any screenshots here would have any objection for you using them in a presentation to a group. If you have any questions or doubts, PM the individual and ask.

Likewise any of my posts, here or on 3DTrains' website. I did one some time back with comparisons between the HO Tehachapi Pass of the La Mesa Model Railroad Club at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum and Tehachapi Pass in V-Scale, featuring the Santa Fe's Grand Canyon. Here's a link to that one: Tehachapi Pass Comparison

Of course, I think the sim beat the model hands down! ;)
