The SP&S is one of those railroads I know little about other than, "Ooh, Alcos!" and a snazzy livery. I may have to wind up getting this set as well.

You know i was thinking of dumping the Columbia Gorge route due to lack of decent equipment to run, this set may just reverse that decision, just need some nice SP&S rolling stock to swing me all the way, nice set

Where else might be "close enough" for the SP&S?

Well, WPFR down the Hi Line from Bieber post merger with BN - you would see BN, Burlington, GN, NP and SP&S (see link below)

Marias Kootenai 8 (available over at train-sim) which, I believe, has some of SP&S trackage and maybe some of the excellent GN Hi-Line, again available over at train-sim.

Arrgh, I was hoping to shoehorn it into the retextured FBL. GN line it is, I suppose; there goes another gig or more of space. Between FS9, MSTS, and FSX, er, I'm filling a 160Gb drive. ;)
