Okay, I lowered the boiler by approx 2", and adjusted the affected fitting's heights.

It's a small tweak physically, but it might alter your perceptions. This is the line-in-the-sand tweak to hunker the K27...

The effect of that "stinkin' little 2 inches" is simply amazing. Changes the whole appearance of the front of the locomotive but that is all it took. I like it. By the time you get the headlight and grabs on the nose and the valve gear and all the air brake piping hung on the sides I think she's going to be just fine.

Looks like the front steps on the running board are actually behind the front of the valve covers. Little tweak there. And the "nipples" on the valve covers weren't that prominent. Must be a cold day in Colorado. ;)

Yes, those extra two inches may have done it. The runningboards were only roughly adjusted and will be fixed during the next tweak session.

I won't have the adjusted boiler version back in the sim for testing for a day or so.
