Today MVRR operated its first high-tonnage train over the Valley Sub. The train weighed 7,929 tons, 8,234 feet in length, powered by five ES44CTE's and two SD45R's pulling 131 cars, a mix of empties and loads. The train started at Stanton, MP 64.8 and crawled at or below 20MPH to MP 56.7. The train had no trouble getting up the hill, its only the length that presented a problem with handling with many curves on the line.

That by far is my favorite shot!
