Hi jsmr,
It would help if you set your Explorer to show all file extensions!

It would appear that you also have some Flight Simulator on your PC, which also uses .tdb files, and has added an association between .tdb files and program called Topcat to the Registry. I suggest that you open any of the files currently marked 'Topcat' and change the program which opens it to your regular file editor. Once you've done one file, it will apply to all the .tdb files on the PC.

Cheers,
Ged

I did exactly as you said and all topcat files reverted to notepad. At least I can see it now. Thanks for the help.
And why I am getting the error is because I've been changing the line speeds from mph to kph and have added a speedsign or two and it doesn't seem to like that at all. Using the default TBD works ok. Evidently there is some catch to adding speed signs (as in the little white boxes to add a new track speed) which I don't know about.

Well I got the route and relevant stock loaded, no problems firing up an activity. Be careful with your track database.

I don't have any issues either until I change track speeds or add my own speedsigns etc. Not sure why doing that causes errors.

I believe changing the track speed is achieved by changing a line in the route's .trk file.
If you ONLY do that, does the route still load OK?

To add new, or remove old, speed signs I'm sure you need to use a route editor like TSRE or MSTS RE.

Cheers,
Ged

I added some speed posts (changing track speed) using TSRE. I think that is what was causing the error. Not sure why adding a new track speed would do that but perhaps its this issue :

but you need to make sure you don't have conflicting speed posts. if you put a new speed post at the beginning of a branch or siding and there is already and existing one on that section facing the opposite direction (the arrow/pyramid) with a different speed listed this will cause undesired behavior. also make sure you place an opposing speed post at the same spot with the desired track speed going the other direction.
