To access the route map window in ORNYMG I usually use Ctrl + 9. Just now I accidently hit the minimise button on the map window instead of the x to close it and now I'm unable to get it back. I've restarted the pc and also reinstalled ORNYMG v159 but there's still nothing when I hit Ctrl + 9.

It DOES however still work in my v1.5.1 installation.

Any ideas please guys?

Hi Weter thanks for responding.

Alt+tab brings up 2 small boxes. One is a blank map window the other is a windowed copy of the full size page I have open. When I release the Alt key the boxes disappear.

Alt+Enter just windows the full size page without any map box appearing.

Alt+Tab switches tasks, so cycling Tab, while Alt depressed will bring up active (launched) tasks one by one.
Alt+Enter toggles currently chosen task between windowed and full-screen mode.
So, try to select Map, then maximize.

When I start up OR and press Alt+tab I only get the windowed box image overlaying the full size image. If I then hit Ctrl+9 and then hit Alt+tab again I get the windowed image plus the blank map window. But when I then hit Alt+Enter both windowed boxes disappear.

At least Alt+F9 for the train list is still working lol.

Strange.
Then - this:
Main Menu has checkbox "windowed"
Options tab had some checkbox for dispatch window to be at least available...
Certainly, before maximizing by Alt+Enter, map window should be turned on (Ctrl+9) and chosen by Alt+tab.
The odd thing is - that it shown blank.

Also, If You sure, that before You have minimized window - it worked normally, maybe deleting (CAUTION!) registry keys about Openrails settings/creating empty *.ini-file would drop settings to default again...

I guess that's a possibility but I'm unsure which registry key I'd be looking for. It's been a while since I've tinkered with the registry.

There seems to be a general problem at the moment. See this thread https://www.elvastow...post__p__310926 Hopefully someone will return it to normal service soon.

Yes I saw that thread. The annoying thing is that it was working fine for me until today when I accidently hit the minimise icon on the map window instead of the x to close it.

I was hoping that reinstalling New Year v159 would do the trick but no such luck.

Mine stopped working after a Windows update about a month ago.
I can get to it through the OR tool bar icon by right clicking and selecting maximize.
It's all or nothing. When the map window is visible you can't view the game screen and vice versa.
Used to be able to have it on another display while having OR on one.
It would be really, really nice to have that functionality back.

Randy
I get nothing in the system or ORMG error logs.

Little more digging. Don't know if it's relevant or not.
Every time I open ORMG 154 or 158 I get these warnings and errors in the event viewer.

Hi Niknak,

The registry values for the map window can be found at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\OpenRails\ORTS\Map_MapViewer". Recently I also had a problem with the map window. It did not appear anymore after using the (Ctrl+9) command. It turned out that somehow my registry values for the map window had changed to "-32000,-32000,600,400". The first two numbers determine the position of the map window (X, Y). "-32000,-32000" are widely beyond my screen. That was the reason why I could not see the map window anymore. You could check your values for the map window in the registry. My current numbers after fixing the problem with the "invisible" map window are "820,31,1020,855".

Uli

Hi Uli,

Thanks for responding and giving me a very nice Christmas present !! :)

My values were the same as yours and now after changing them to the new ones that you specified I have the map window back again on Ctrl+9.

Many thanks and I hope you have a great Christmas. :)
