A new Stable Version (1.6) is looming on the horizon. There were 3 items that we wanted to include before going into the usual pre-release testing phase and these are now close to completion.

As well, we will have to spend time bringing our 9 language translations up to date.

Another key task is compiling a video to post on YouTube to show off all the improvements and new features since 1.5.1. There's a list of these in the Manual for the Testing Version at https://open-rails.readthedocs.io/en/latest/news.html

Youtube has previous videos from V1.5, V1.4 and an early one from V0.8

So now a personal invitation - do you want to try your hand at producing the promotional video for this upcoming release? If so, please send me a PM.

I'm very pleased to report that translation is underway for Brazilian, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Many thanks to the 7 people working on these.

We need translators to bring things up to date for the other 5 languages that we have been supporting. These are:

  • Chinese
  • Danish
  • German
  • Hungarian
  • Polish

If you are willing to help with one of these, please send me a Private Message (PM). It would be great if we can publish a release with absolutely everything up to date.

[Edit] Oops, Peter B has already offered to help with German; my mistake.

Hi Lalek,

Sorry not to reply earlier, but I missed this post and have only just found it.

I will take your work and submit it to the repository.

Many thanks indeed for doing this.
