No, that is the debug log.

I suggest you have a look in x:\users\your name\appdata\roaming\open rails,

There is going to be a LARGE file in there.

I see a "TestingLog.txt" file but on my system it hasn't been updated since 2020. What do I do about that?

Nothing, just delete it, not needed.

I just did. but it's still crashing when I load this consist. What else could it be?

Yes. And it loads just fine.

Some steam code problem?

Have to wait for one of the coders to have a look.

Go back some versions if you wish to continue.

No. Whenever I try any other steam consist, they load just fine. However, I think it might have to do with one of the cars in the consist, as any consist that uses that car crashes upon loading.

You have the fix then, fix the car.

I've combed through the *.wag files of all the cars that seem to be affected by this bug, as well as their associated *.inc files, and I can't seem to find anything wrong with them. It seems to affect only the following combination:

  • Freight Car
  • Single-pipe Air Brakes
  • Chain couplers

Again, all the files look "clean" to me, so I have no idea what's causing this combination to crash while others don't!

You have a consist that crashes.

cut the consist in half, test again.

rinse and repeat.

test down to the broken car.
