Just looking at a diesel electric train that used to run in UK. (There were probably similar in other countries). The two bogies of the power cars at either end were driven by traction motors powered by the main diesel engine. In addition one bogie of each of the "trailer" cars adjacent to the motor cars was powered. [To add extra confusion to OpenRails the powered bogie had a slightly longer wheelbase than the unpowered bogie; and power for heating, lighting and air conditioning was provided by an auxiliary engine in that car; there were two such cars one at either end adjacent to the motor cars, but at any time only one of the two auxiliary engines was used!]

Anyway my question would be how to model this in OR?
Maybe make the motor cars - diesel electric and the powered 'trailers' electric?

If the powered 'trailer' was made 'diesel electric' as well as the motor, then diesel exhuast could be added, but the diesel engine output of the auxiliary engine would be less than the power output of the traction motors...

Hello.
There where also "booster sections" for shunters, called "slugs" or "colts" in US,
There where 3-axle bogies with only two driven axles under Hungarian DMU trains, with different distance between axles.

What about smoke - diesel-generator exhaust fx with constant rate is available for wagon () section of car or locomotive.
