Is anyone having a hard time getting their steam locomotives moving lately? With Unstable release U2024.01.24-2007, opening the throttle, even on a light engine consist, causes the locomotive's driving wheels to spin profusely and prevent the train from moving. The profuse wheelslip doesn't end until you apply the brakes and re-center the reverser.
Diesel locomotives work without any problems occurring.
EDIT: After more testing, it seems to only affect conventional, superheated locomotives. Geared locomotives and saturated-steam locomotives work perfectly fine. The issue is still present as of U2024.01.26-0523.
EDIT #2: After further testing, it seems as though the wheelslip is caused when steam locomotives have dynamic loading physics. Deleting or commenting out the dynamic load code causes the wheelslip problem to stop.
