Designed by famed architects Holabird & Roche the Roanoke building, 11 S. Lasalle st., was constructed in 1915. It is now on the National Registry of Historic Buildings. It stands 448 feet high, for 37 Stories. It is now a luxury hotel.
For me, what stands out is the terracotta panels:

Of course doing something like this in a model has to be artwork and that's proven to be difficult... Getting the color to match the building stone was real problem as I had nothing on hand that was remotely correct and I needed the same color for common brick, terracotta panels, terracotta art, each of which is scaled uniquely.
I started with the stone on the left and got to the stone on the right:
Having got the color close enough to what I wanted I started on the arches -- where most of the terracotta is located; I think this 3rd version is now good enough to run across the building:

I have a good start on the rest of the city block but I think I might just move on to something else for a while once I get the Roanoke Building further along.

Hello.
fretwork looks outstanding on both - the photo and Your model, but, the question:
Which of them?

Models and textures like these could put a ding into all the hype about using the other model maker software ;-)
