I've tried to simulate the cross compound (one HP, one LP cylinder) on a loco I built a number of years ago, but it results in it refusing to move, regardless wether compound (P) is activated or not.

I added the HP and LP parameters
	NumCylinders ( 1 )
	CylinderStroke ( 27in )
	CylinderDiameter ( 21in )
	CylinderVolume ("5.4*(ft^3)")
	LPNumCylinders ( 1 )
	LPCylinderStroke ( 27in )
	LPCylinderDiameter ( 33in )
	LPCylinderVolume ("13.6*(ft^3)")

Am I missing something or can OR not simulate this correctly?

Can you try the Compound locomotive on the CTN page? Does it work?

I haven't yet because I can't find it, but I don't see what other parameters for compound working I'm missing. I used the guide on your website. I've set up a loco with two HP and two LP cylinders the same way and that works just fine.

If I have one HP cylinder and two LP cylinders, it does not work, but as long as there are two HP cylinders the loco will move. Does OR not count a single HP cylinder in conjunction with one or two LP cylinders as a working loco?

Cross compound means there's one HP cylinder on one side and one LP cylinder on the other. Effectively, it is a single cylinder machine unless using the simpling valve.

The compound locomotive can be found here.

As suggested there were a number of different compounding arrangements trialed at various time. When building the functionality, the most "popular" variant was used as a model.

This variant was 2 x HP, and 2 x LP cylinders. Configuring other variants was on the basis that the existing code may not work for them.

I see. So my suspicions were correct that OR can't simulate this type.

Then there's no use is trying to make it work, I'll just config the eng to be a simple.

There is a 1LP+1HP-Compound 'Parní lokomotiva ČSD řady 320.0' from this site 'https://vzd-or.eu/ke-stazeni/parni-lokomotivy-a-vozy/3/'. It works in ORTS 1.5.1 but not with newer versions. Did you try your engine with 1.5.1 ?
