As we all know, DTG had decided to release the editor for general public use, so I started working on one of my old project.
The Indian locomotive class WDM2 is a class of diesel-electric locomotive that was developed in 1962 by American Locomotive Company.
I am attaching some renders.
More to come in coming weeks when we get hands on with TSW 4.

Can you tell us more about the process you used?
Was it made in Blender?
That video that you posted, was that done up in Blender or did you import the WDM2 into something like Unreal Engine?
It's very impressive!

Yes, indeed.

With respect to historic rolling stock, finding reference pictures and blueprints is a cumbersome task.
I only had a line diagram of this locomotive.

I will break down the process into some basic steps –
a. We will make a basic blockout of the asset. A basic blockout is not a low poly model.
b. For modern games, we can bake the details from high poly mesh into low poly meshed, so the focus should be first on making a low poly model (withing budget) which should be free from shading issues.
c. Make high poly model ny adding support edges and use turbo smooth modifier, which basically means using the sub–division workflow.
d. Proper unwrap the model, remember to check overlapping and inverted uv layout.
e. Export the model to Substance Painter and make some nice textures.
This a a list of texture sets required for modern games.

The video is from Marmoset Toolbag 4, a software used for baking texture maps and some basic animation for model showcase.

Anyone who know modeling can use any software to model.
I used 3ds Max, as I work in a game studio and we have to use 3ds max because our client need max files.
Thank you for reading.

How do you like Marmoset? Have you compared it to Substance Painter? Any feeling on which is better?

Indeed! Try modeling trains over 150 years old. You would be lucky to have only the three-view line drawings.
You have mastered the tools in your hands, Sumit, to have created such a fine work with so little to go by. :thumbup3:
