I already have this one, but a friend who doesn't is really interested in it. I dunno if it's worth it since it's one of the last (or maybe the last) product on trainsimulation's site that still uses models with flinstones wheels (outside of the included F40PHR), and because of the route being made in a pre-open rails era. Just want to know what others think of this.

If you are more of a Santa Fe fan than a BNSF fan, it's worth having it. Personally, I bought it for the rolling stock more than the route. But that was also over 10 years ago.

I think the older SLI routes are still very nice, including this one and the drg&w route

Still worth it --- yup definitely -- providing you enjoy running desert routes set in the western US...those SLI routes were well crafted.

What is the difference between the $15 "ATSF" version and the $18 "BSNF" version? Are they the exact same route, with different trainsets?

I have no clue, somethings I do not even try to keep track of...I'm positive someone over at TrainSim would know. I still run both of the Seligman routes in OR and enjoy them, especially if I'm looking for a roller coaster ride to test my skills at keeping the train at a " somewhat" constant speed.

The track work, signals, and method of operation are different on the BNSF version compared to the ATSF version. It's like coming back to the same route after fifteen or twenty years to see what's the same and what's different.

I'm curious enough to try one of the two routes, I just don't know which one.

Do you like ATSF equipment or BNSF?
I got the ATSF. Lot of nice 2nd generation power.

The BNSF version is way newer (as in terms of release date) than its ATSF counterpart and is made to be more for an open rails standard (while the ATSF one came out back in 2012 and was made for MSTS).

The one real killer for me are the ATSF diesel locomotives in the Santa Fe version of Seligman. The models aren't bad at all, but compared to everything else TS has for sale they are extremely dated (going back to 2005), and heck they are even freeware now.
