After 15 minutes of taking on water, cutting out the helper, and picking up, the 489 departs Cumbres at 8:40 AM with 31 loads, 22 empties. The 483 left Cumbres 10 minutes earlier and ran light to Alamosa.
Soon, the train pulls into the Los Pinos siding to meet the westbound San Juan.
