This is a beautifully restored 4-2-0, in 4K and 20 minutes worth.

Ah yes, the Limmat of the Spanisch-Brötli-Bahn. I like that one. Elaborate and ornate. :good:

Märklin/Trix made an H0 model of the train back in the early 2000s, it's on my wishlist.

That's cool. Is it spendy?

I recognized the locomotive right away, but didn't know the significance of it. I have one in a post card from my collection, a 1955 Alfred Mainser "cat astrophie". Maybe you've already seen this, Jon: it's cats driving trains, and other vehicles. The draftsmanship of the artist is pretty accurate, even down to the cars in the consist. This painting is less chaotic than most of the Mainser paintings.

The model was offered in the early 2000s if memory serves, so nowadays it's quite the collectors item... likely very spendy!

The cat art is delightful, and I have somewhere among my files one with a swiss sidewheel steamer. As a lover of cats these art pieces are very entertaining, and evoke childhood memories of the cartoon books of Richard Scarry.

I found the one, a google search for Alfred Mainzer gave a wealth of artworks

Hey Jon, those are great images. I don't know how many paintings Mainser (how it's spelled on the Swiss post card), or, Mainzer, did in his lifetime, but they are funny, with some kind of "happening" or some kind of chaos or impending chaos in the offing. Beautifully drawn and painted and there's always something going on in them, somewhere in the picture.

Richard Scarry's artwork is always good for a laugh and a snicker. :)
