Open Rails message.pdf (197.42K)
Number of downloads: 64Hello,
I am experiencing an issue with starting a new session. The Open Rails program starts fine with the normal game menu, but after starting a session it crashes. See screenshot
I have ticked the " logging" option but a log file is not created (perhaps before the game crashes)
This happed in the latest OpenRails version, I then tried an older version 1.31 but it gives the same problems.
I have the required dependencies installed like DirectX, .Net and XNA.
I am using the standard BSNF Scenic sub with the default C44W
Anybody any idea what to try next?
Martijn

Please post the full OpenRailsLog.txt file after a run with a recent OR version.

I have just installed OR 1.5.1 and the same error message appears
No log file is created, although this is ticked in the menu. Perhaps because the game crashes before a file is generated?

Please post a screen shot of the game menu,
The folders that show in your first crash do not look normal.
C:\var\folders\kv\long string
I would suggest you do not have the route installed in a form that OR can use.

I actually noticed that the error with OR 1.51 is a bit different (sorry, I overlooked). See attachment ERROR OR 1.51.pdf (257.19K)

Attach the OpenRailsLog.txt.
It should be on your desktop.
May have to zip it. Not a .pdf.

There is still something wrong with your install.
Routes should not be installed in the OR folders, and should not be installed in windows protected folders. ie c:\program files

I have installed the route in the default folder c:\Trainsimulations, so I would not expect read isues
