Hi guys,
I'm wondering if it's possible to add the 2 lines to an activity file that make the AI traffic blow it's horn at crossings when it's a TIMETABLE activity? The format on timetable acts is completely different and there's no obvious place to add these 2 files. ORTSAIHornAtCrossings ( 2 )
ORTSAICrossingHornPattern ( US )
AI horn blow on timetable acts? AI horn blow on timetable acts?

No, that's not possible. Timetable mode does not have a definition file, equivalent to the activity file, so there is just nowhere to put these lines.
Apart from that, the logic through which these whistles are activated (auxiliary actions) is not implemented in timetable mode.

Rob Roeterdink

Also, special waypoints, used in ORTS activities, are out of timetable mode functionality.
As it was stated in Manual: (at least for now) timetable mode in not a substitution of activity mode.
Both have own benefits, and, maybe one day, timetable mode could accept "scripts" for particular trains, but not in this era.

Let's hope, and think, what cAn we do personally for improving that.
That could help Robert. Quantity to quality.

i might add recently, actually, last week, I was able to add Ai train horn when trains meet, in timetable mode. This was possible following a thread by Carlo Santucci where this was discussed along the train horn sounding at train departure. sadly it appears that the later does not work in timetable mode.

That sounds very interesting. I missed that thread. I would ask if it's a complicated procedure as my expertise is somewhat limited! :)

Not too complex.
Some new triggers for producing sounds, when train is not-player's.
Will search a link for You...
