In the route's Textures folder replace the terrain.ace texture with the one you want.

Hi Folks,

You can [Shift] or [Ctrl] click to select all patches on a given tile and "Put" to them all in one operation. I forget - off the top of my head - which key does it.

Regards,
Scott

Pete Willard writes comprehensive manual by his own.
I'll search for link for You: it's *.pdf on GitHub.

Find the road piece in question and open it with Shapeviewer then click view - textures.
It will show only one texture. While viewing the texture files Export it, lower right corner. The .tga will be in your shapes folder.
Open the .tga in your image editor and edit it. When done save it to the route's textures folder as a .dds using the file name it comes with. DXT1 is fine for these.
Or, if you have a texture you want to use copy it and rename it to the file called for by the shape.
If you save these textures as a .dds and things go horribly wrong, doubtful, you can delete the .dds and revert back to the .ace it was using before.
TSRE will only show the .ace texture if it's available, the .dds if it's not so to get TSRE to use the new .dds textures you'll need to delete the .ace after you create the .dds.
I recommend PaintdotNet. It handles .dds textures natively and is very easy to use.
It ain't rocket surgery.
Have fun.

Randy
