Hello.
Is there a comprehensive syntax of *.sd-file description?
Especially, my current interest is about alternative texture reference numerical codes.
Here is the list, formed thanking your suggestions, dear colleagues:
0 : Default value (main texture only)
1 : With snow textures
252 : All seasons (mainly for vegetation)
256 : Night texture (this has a bug in MSTS but not in OR)
257 : Night and snow textures

Only ones I've ever heard of are:
( 1 ) summer and winter textures.
( 252 ) four season textures.
Paul :-)

Thank You all, Paul, Randy and David.
If You don't mind, I'll accumulate all Your suggestions in the first post.
Hope, some other tips would be added.
My current problem is seeing gray locomotives in winter snow conditions after introduction of seasonal textures for rolling stock.
I've decided not to edit *.sd-files, in case if I would use not right code, or for making future texture variations possible.
But this strategy demands to duplicate existing texture in "winter" subfolder, which consumes disk space.
Reading David's list I suspect, I've seen something, looking like that somewhere... Many-many years back.
Wasn't it some tutorial on Steam4me site?

What about this:
Is that already included into official version's code?

I have generated a trial version of OR NewYear MG , that I have called OR NewYear MG 83RAIN, that implements a basic RAIN textures feature: shapes (including trainset shapes) having a RAIN subfolder and having the .sd file conveniently setup display the textures present in the RAIN subfolder.
To state that a shape has the RAIN textures it must have the parameter ESD_Alternative_Texture incremented by 512.
Here is the download link
http://www.interazio...ear_MG_RAIN.zip
The feature will enter more official version if it will be positively used.
Adding the feature to terrain, forests and transfers requires changes in the logic selecting a replacement texture when the one corresponding to the weather and season environment is missing, which now in many cases displays the "Missing" texture in such case.

December 2020.
No wonder.
From that 89+ version till current 141... I hope at least into NYMG it was incorporated...
