I have eventually got some time to explore this route - La Ligne de la Maurienne v1.
After the first ride - very good impressions, so I've decided: it worth some screenshot review on ET forum.
Let's get started.
After installation, only one path available: from Cambery towards Modane.
First - I like very realistic people on platforms in Chambery,
Attached Image: maur_1021.jpg
as well as very spectacular pass through streets of this old town.
Attached Image: maur_1019.jpg
Very interesting curved platforms are modelled carefully.
Attached Image: maur_1020.jpg
Very accurate and detailed signaling models surrounding our train.

Then, tracks dive under houses and appear in between of them, going ahead.
After leaving suburbs, we find ourselves in nice place of alpine valleys, following a small river upstream.

Here are pair of initial images, giving common impression of the route:

2/3 of it's length, the route rous almost flat, then - steep grades are taking place.

Some industry is present for making freight activities.
Very rural bypass stretch, using wooden pilones for wire supporting.
Attached Image: maur_1012.jpg
Author cared to plant trees very natural - no observable repeating pattern.

For information the route Maurienne V2.0 is already created and extented to many more kilometers in other Alpes valleys now ;)

Hello, Christophe.
I still hope, You would accept my invitation and we can discuss this promising project itself here.
As I've noticed, to the north of Chambery, there are almost the same length of track placed, as the existent route.
So, that is for said extension, right?

It might a piece of cake for experienced users, but for me it's not. Installing this route! I tried both:

- added it to the existing msts routes, no Maurienne route to be found
- created a new Maurienne directory and added that to the Open Rails content. No Route to be found in the Installation Profile when trying to open it in the Open Rails menu.

Can anyone help? If anything unclear about what I've tried so far, please let me know. Maybe I should have started a new topic? Maybe there is already a topic about installing routes?

Hello.
Welcome!
This thread was intended for sharing impressions (screenshots, but not only) about this beautyful route, including any related discussions so, I suppose You didn't do anything wrong, asking here about installation. If there would be many serious problems - then yes - it would worth to start new thread, but I believe, this is a kind of minor fault.

First, are You sure, all three parts of installation archive are not damaged during download?
Do Windows allow to install them (Don't You use protected USER's folders, modification of which is usually blocked)?

I've just ran installer from one of archives and then dropped route folder into MSTS routes installation profile.
What is actual location of Your route and what log-file tells?

I've already have been "slightly blamed" by reputable hungarian colleagues for usage of improper rolling stock, but having just few time - I have to combine - the route exploration and rolling stock tuning for ORTS. Searching for prototipic stock demands too much time, if i's not included into route installation kit. However, I'd ask French colleagues about one (at least) locomotive, which I like after seeing screenshots.

Longer or shorter - I've made two test rides along the route on these days.
First - I've prepared the path, starting from Modane - for giong from there as well.
Inspection ride path is actually a tour, reversing beyond Modane's Eastern end, but I'm not planning to start from Chambery every time, or making saves.

So, Here we go, starting from Modane.
Attached Image: maur_003.jpg
As I guess, this is a border town near Italy. It's situated in tight canyon and has guarding fortress on one of sides.

We'll depart towards Chambery, tuning dynamic brakes and CLUB (complex locomotive security device)

Going downhill - we can see very interesting structures - for passing water of mountain creeks over tracks
(I never could guess, what it for, riding on Innsbruck-st.Anton route 20 years ago)

Very scenic tunnels: some 24-m short - some more, than kilometer long.

Found what I did wrong. I copied the route not in the ROUTES sub directory, but one above. Once I copied it into the ROUTES it works correctly.

What a nice route! If you find the French trains which did run on this route, please share the information. I now ran the route with a German V200 diesel locomotive, which2 is kind of strange.
