Still wonder about tiny pipe near first driver:
Attachment sample.jpg

Could be the exhaust pipe from the air pump to the steam chest.

here's my arrangement on the OR version of 1592 I started some time ago. Pipe goes behind the air tank..

Did they have a non-lifting injector on the fireman's side? The pipe going forward looks to be the same size as the one going to the boiler check valve.

Don't think so, Tim: that one is opened to the left side.

If so, that second plume (just near air pump) is caused by steam leaks along pump's rods...

You are right. I don't know off hand what that wee pipe is from, but it is quite discernible.

Details were very different between all these engines, over the course of years, weren't they?

Just trying out your new engine files on 1548. Much better! Thanks!

The Thompsons are on lake pick nick again, as I can see...
Have blowdown FX to appear on both sides?

They never leave!!

I have seen the blowdown appear only on the right. Also a little wisp of steam around the air pump upon starting. That's a neat little addition.

Steve, that's one of your best colorizations. The person is diminutive Alice White, film star of the 1920's and 30's.
