BRAKEMAN'S CAB for Steam Locomotive Tenders.
Northern Pacific Railway.
4037 Polygons.

Built in Train Sim Modeler Pro, Just for the heck of it..
Artwork done in Paint Shop Pro 7.2.
Many textures, especially those for weathering and effects are from Textures.com.

The model was built using a copy of the railway's linen drawings of the type of brakeman's cab used on the NP's heavier steam locomotives, such as the W-3 and later Mikados and some of the earlier Z-class 2-8-8-0's and such. Some other railroads used similar "dog houses".

Can be used as a freight animation add-on for those who know how. As it comes "out of the box", it places itself on the ground as a scenery object. If it is to be placed on the top of the tank on a tender, it has to have an unencumbered space, behind a coal board or oil bunker with nothing, like a tool box behind it to get in the way, as this model has a detailed interior, and such things would poke through and be seen.

A tutorial on placing freight animation shapes on an existing car can be found here:
"Adding Freight Loads To Gondolas And Flat Wagons (using Freight Animation)
by Tim Muir & Chuck Zeiler."

https://msts.steam4m...eight_anim.html

To try it's placement on one of my earlier NP W class tenders, try these coordinates to get it "in the neighborhood":

0, 10.257, -6.219
