Hello, I have a model without a pantograph, to which I have created an individual 3d mesh for the pantograph, with animation, I cannot join the two parts, so the only way to put it is with an ORTSFreightAnims. The problem is in the simulation, the panto animation fires in a loop. And I need it to work together with the normal pantograph animation. I don't know if it's a bug, because the animation is well named, it works well in shape viewer, or if it's because you can't do this kind of thing

I use this in the eng:
	ORTSFreightAnims
 	(
 	MSTSFreightAnimEnabled( 1 )
 	FreightAnimStatic
 	(
 	SubType( Default )
	 Shape( "PANTO2.s" )
 	Offset( 0, 0, 17.31 )
	Visibility ( "Outside,Cab2D,Cab3D" )
 	)
	)

Hello.
As far as I know, there is no point in animating the freigtanim, because only static (non-animated) objects can be placed with it.
Sincerely,
Marci

Hello.

It's an urban legend. It has been possible to animate cargo for years. Although this is not real animation, it works. The coal load attached to the trucks is actually a sheet. When I fill the cart, the sheet rises nicely to the upper position, when I empty it, it descends nicely. It is not old, but you can see whether it is empty or loaded.
You can read about it here.

The coal simply descends through the floor of the wagon. Sometimes you see it underneath, especially with tenders. It would be nice to have a proper animation where the coal in the tender could change shape and size and finally disappear. The same logic would make a pantograph work.

Hello.

There should be more of that. Depending on whether it is a hopper car or a traditional one that is emptied through a chute.

You can add an animation to a Freight Anim. I have done it with rotating fans on the roof of a locomotive. These were constantly rotating.

The difficulty with a pantograph in a FA is that it may not raise and lower with the normal P commands. I have not checked this out, though.

Here is a video, if it works.

I have also done an animated driver, and an animated fireman, which are added as Freight Anims. They are just modelled as animated scenery.

When I put the pantograph, the animation to go up and down was in a loop, that's why I was asking if it was possible to work correctly with the animation keys
