I want to able to arrive at a station, uncouple loco then jump to another loco (shunter/switcher).
Can this be done.
Something like change cab end but to a different loco not connected to present consist

Yes you can, but only in one Activity.

You can create an activity where there is the consist that you manage and other consists that you place in the ways.

Once you have entered the activity, press Alt+F9 and you can see your consist (Player) and the others (static) in a window, double click on the one you
want and switch to that consist.

I hope I've helped.

Best regards.

Pedro

Yes, and there are two options of doing that: whether You would like to suspend Your former locomotive (for returning back to her later), or let she become AI-controlled, for accomplishing the rest of activity's task by her own.

Hi,

But before the loco can move it has to have a path to follow unless you switch to Manual Mode - even then I don't know if that will work as I've never tried that.

Hope this helps,

Stephen

You can switch either to an AI train (and in this case you will have a path to follow) or you can switch to a static consist (and in this case you can proceed "pathless" only in manual mode).

Thanks for the reply.
I'm currently recovering from a collapse and only returned home this week from hospital. In a few days time I'll try this out. Meanwhile I'm slowly rebuilding my strength.
Thanks again

Tried today. Can now swap locos.
I'm going to try a new test route to master swapping and carrying on with a new loco
