These are fascinating archives, color paintings over blueprints straight from the Baldwin Locomotive works! No questions about that builder's color scheme offerings in the 1880's now!

Yes, it is too bad so many records were lost or destroyed. As far as we know, there are only the few color lithos of Mason engines surviving today. I have found only two so far..
