Good evening!

My name is Frank Stendel, I'm from Germany and I run the company "Fahrt frei". I've been running a forum thread here since November 2016. Here are the links to the thread and my website.

New commercial provider in Germany

Fahrt frei

Since I intend to have two routes from Germany built for Open Rails, I am looking for route builders who are familiar with building routes for Open Rails and who are willing to build two routes for me for a fee. There is a route in northern Germany and one in southern Germany that are to be built. The routes should be built for Open Rails and all functions that Open Rails offers will be integrated.

If you are interested, please contact me at the following e-mail address.

info@fahrt-frei.fr

In the hope that route builders will contact me, I remain

Until next time

Frank Stendel

Someone asked me six years ago to build a route... I came up with $50 per mile and a $2500 minimum.

It's not that I wasn't interested, but after presenting a high level project plan and showing the amount of labor actually involved, that conversation ended rather quickly.

Today, I'd probably double that hourly rate expectation.

Nah, not in a position to take on a project right now. Just wanted to give you an idea of the possible costs...

Even at that 2x price a route builder will still be working at less than what he'd earn flipping burgers over 8 weeks (40 hrs/ week) at minimum wage. And I know you know that Eric but not very many others do.

It is very nice to see someone intesreested in using Open Rails which is a fine RR sim for a commercial project a great sign of support.
