Hello, Wayne.
It's tri-phase 6-10/0.4kV compact substation.
Above is high-voltage cubicle with fuses and switches, behind is oil-cooled transformer (dark on picture), and in front is low voltage distributor with counter and cirquits-breakers. Here it feeds crossing signaling and guard's house.
Also, see here

Interesting. Thx

Looks like a real workhorse. I like the practice of painting the running gear red, or vermilion. It shows all the more interesting bits more clearly.

Germans did so. Vermillion wheels, silver rims&rods.
this "у" series were built during WWII, utilizing boilers for passenger Су steamers, yet not produced

This is the major distinction form plain Эм series. So, it appears, there wasn't Эм survived or available, so they used Эу's body to put in postament.
This is a monument for the engine Эм721-83, hauled first freight train from blocked Leningrad at 1943's spring, upon so-called Victory Road.

Genuine Эм, named Эу by "restaurators"

Hello.

This type had to be produced for war reparations. In Hungary, a few units worked on the broad-gauge tracks of the Záhonyi transshipment area. Hungarian modelers did not make it, because it is not a known type.

Sincerely, Laci1959
