There is a setting in windows own mouse configuration that can cause the mouse cursor to disappear in some games (includes Open Rails). If this occurs to you the fix is usually simple: Open up the control panel, find the mouse configuration link, when that window opens select the tab for "Pointer Options". Look at "Display Pointer Trails". If the box is checked, uncheck it and save. Next time you run OR you will see the mouse cursor as expected.
