I do like the open box approach to the logo. Very neat.
Now that the MonoGame conversion is done, we are hoping to manage a 6-monthly release, so the front cover could change twice a year, making a nice showcase.
I also like the idea of an appropriate image to introduce each chapter. I think we could spare a few bytes for that :-)
Chris, please consider one of "qballbandit" ( Neil ) screenshots for the cover or something like it.
I've also seen some beautifully detailed and realistic countryside shots of track from European routes, there's just something appealing ( to me ) in this type of picture that conveys the feeling of Open Rails.
The last cover presented a photographic space that was immediate, direct, and closed -- ....no room for the viewer to roam around in.
IMPO ( "in my professional opinion" -- nothing humble about it http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/derisive.gif ) we need something with
open space, that the viewer can occupy with their imagination and whatever other visual imagery they bring to the photograph. City-scapes can be too confining...reminiscent of crowds, traffic, noise, a closed space.
Scott makes a valid point about the color palette of the whole scene and the sky.
I'm pleased you are open to the other ideas...but ideas are cheap, compared to the time and effort required to move them into the reality of the manual --- thanks for your efforts. http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/sign_rockon.gifhttp://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/hi.gif
