This question was probably asked and answered a hundred years ago but, are we stuck with a single steam/smoke texture?

I like the black smoke but the steam from the whistle and dynamo are black too.
Is there a way to separate them out?

We definitely do need a separate textures for
- steam (should be always white, but have variable transparency)
- smoke (should have variable color from white through gray to black, as diesel smoke now can do, plus variable transparency)

This could be the day I was brought into this world.

Maybe this is what time period I should shoot for.... +/- 10 years.... Would my trusty U boat have been around?
I know my BN GP7 wouldn't be. One of these days I'm going to have to try a repaint.
HeII I don't know.
I'm gonna go plant some trees.

That is a nice, humble little route you got there! It has given me a bit of inspiration!

This route has inspired me to do my own rendition of the line in Trainz! I tried to follow the track layout as closely to your map as possible...

Not bad for a start. I would just like to advise the department not to spam the trees, as that can be harmful to the environment!
