Hello.
Let me recommend you to check-out MSTS mapper by Anton Galeta a,k.a Net
Version 1.5.4 download page
This is a nice addition to Track Viewer. It is more for visual work.
It shows gradients, statistics, saves picture to image file, adjusts station name styles.

Thank you for the link. This looks to be a really useful utility.

Unfortunately for myself, both the readme file, and the program itself, appear to be in Russian language. Is there an English version available, or any option to change the language to English from within the program?

Thanks, Mike.

Thanks for good feedback, Mike.
Sorry. It seems, there are no any menus like "Options" or "Settings" within the program window.
First, you cAn feel free to ask about everything, you interested here.
I will try to answer.
Second, there are some online translators, as google, so if you will have unclear variant of translation, I'll be able to answer to you more precise.
So, you are welcome anytime.

The essential moments about controls you can see beneath the first spoiler of download page (link at first post above)

I use it fairly regularly, and can cook up a document translating the fields. I'm certainly not fluent in Russian, but I've used Mapper (and Google Translate) long enough to come up with decent translations

Many thanks for your offers of help.

I did attempt to use Google translate on parts of the readme, but, probably because of my English keyboard characters, it was interpreted as Chinese!

I will attempt to use the program, but it is difficult to know where to start.

I am not a content creator, so my main interest in the program was to be able to create flexible route maps without the duplication of station / platform names for reference when running activities.

Thanks again for your assistance.

Regards, Mike.

Well, first, the program seems to me quite simple.
All settings is at the tab at the left.
They are accompanied with pictograms, so this is a help to associate functions with definitions in future.
2 Cyrillic codepage can be chosen through windows settings, but I suspect, that is no keyboard issue, but the encoding of the file's text (ANSI, or something else)
3 I always ready to correct and explain if there will be questions
4 I think it will be pleasure for an author (A.Galeta) to know, that his program is demanded abroad, so, maybe he will help with translation of its interface, like route riter or open rails are.
5 for me, it was very helpful in searching of gaps at route's track work, which, as you probably know, surely cause MSTS to shut down.
I have looked at trainsim.ru discussion (link to the right of download link)
There are 27 pages at the thread, the last post is dated April 2016.
So I would try to contact with person, who probably knows author..

And here s that text about controls. I will translate it incrementally.

Version 1.5.2 download page

With link you provided the current file version available for download is 1.5.4.

The captcha required to download this file is going to be trouble for any person not familiar with slavic languages. Google translate did not do a very good job with converting english,
zero
one
two
three
four
five
six
seven
eight
nine
to slavic counterparts!

Is this file safe to run on your computer, virus/trojans/backdoors? It is appears to be "solid" executable, not a zip file. Not sure about opening this.

If the author has produced this with locales in mind it most likely would be simple to translate into any language needed, this is not clear in your post.

Nice find, how did you find it?

I do not think I would call this an addition to the OR Trackviewer, it seems more like a replacement. So, what source code was used to make this? Is it written in Pascal, which is what Trackviewer was written in (as I recall). What are the license terms, GPL, etc?

A lot of questions!

Steve

You can't deal with captcha?
Ноль-0 zero
Один-1 one
Два-2 two
Три-3 three
Четыре-4 four
Пять-5 five
Шесть-6 six
Семь-7 seven
Восемь-8 eight
Девять-9 nine

Yes, at headline I saw 1.5.4 (1.5.2 was about "what's new" spoiler) so I will correct links displayed text, thanks.
I use it for some years. Antivirus see nothing suspicious. Exe is probably because sfx/installer. Site owner is quite careful in offering materials to download: who wants to be sued for spreading Trojans?

What do you mean?
I have mentioned 27-page of discussion, but I didn't read that all.
So have no idea about technical and legal aspects for now.
Something about XML. licence? At Ukraine? You joking.

It has some functions beyond track viewer, but don't have some, that TW has.

I have gotten many things from trainsim.ru for many years and never had issues with malware, so I would consider it to be a good source. .exes are the standard on the site, to the point that I don't recall ever getting anything other than an .exe there
