You need to build that Frank! Love the COE tractor with the wide-whites!

Here's a Labatt truck from the mid 1930s that they restored in the early 1980s and ended up at the shopping mall I was working in for a week.

The trailer would be straight forward. The Merc and the tractor not so much. Fortunately the Merc is generally "rectangular". Still, it'll be a while before I'm happy enough with my Blender shapes to produce one.

I did manage to create a "low poly" Nash Semi tractor., 2019 polys according to Shape Viewer.

Still having trouble creating and mapping textures in Blender.

That is amazing, that you get so good a representation of the shape with so few polygons. I hope you can get the texturing problems resolved, Frank.

Nice looking models there, you obviously have have the 3D modelling part under control.

What problems are you having with creating and mapping textures? If we can assist you over this obstacle then you end up spending more time modelling the subjects you want, rather than fighting the tool you are using.

Cheers,

Marek.

Made me laugh.....I believe the word "everything" pretty much sums it up. Still learning at this point

Believe it of not the Labatt truck has been modeled, but not for train sims. This is an s file I creating from a file created by Louis Fournier and uploaded to Thingiverse.

Granted, probably has way more poly's than you want in the SIM, but its a starting point and there are some "decimate" options within Blender to reduce polycount.

And yeah, thingiverse has some gems we can pull from. (This is > 300,000 faces)

The same model was reduced to 15K Faces using only the Decimate modifier...
