Good evening,
I just finished modeling, and creating a suitable eng file, my new Italian loco (picture here) and I was wondering if there are any freely usable sounds available for small diesel locos like mine. Here's a video of the real thing. I understand that the sounds will unavoidably be different from the real ones but it's ok. I hope one day to be able to record the original sounds on my own.
Thank you.

Hello, Diego.
You can derive sounds from YouTube videos, so the first task is googling for your prototype's footages, but not compulsory recording every sound by yourself.
Then, recording will be needed only for adding details, or improving something. As well, look for analogues around trainsim add-on libraries, as Rowie told.
