I needed to take a break from my work on Buffalo so I spent the day editing Richard Garber's wonderful Cumberland route.

I completed the entire route with new mosaic work, edited the grasses, bushes and trees and repainted the many shop buildings around the major yards to suit my own tastes.

Not bad for a rainy day's work I think.

Enjoy shots.

Hi Kevin,

Nice work - I've always enjoyed Rich's route.

My copy has replaced - track - animated switch stands - vegetation - ROW TERRTEX via Mosaic (long arduous task) - new terrain tiles where you could see the edges - new distant mountains - etc...

I had always wanted to revisit the cities and make them the more prototypically correct company mining towns. Make the roads more rural and remove the obnoxious "car honking" wav you hear all over the route.

I had started reworking all the activities with "advanced shunting" ORTS operations - such as automated helpers and such.

Very nice, Kevin! I recently rediscovered my copy of the route stored away on another drive. It's been many years since running the route, but you're sparking interest again.

Scott, I was sure I was looking at a photograph of prototype ALCO's in that first shot. Well done!

Hi Tim,

Hah - sorry for the necro post - I was searching for L&N content and didn't notice the date on Kevin's post - I thought it was recent.

Yeah - they're just Gaeten and Rick's models - they do look good. I'll try to capture that look when I paint my RS3 for L&N. I did reskin the C420's as those textures were not as good as the RS3.

Regards,
Scott

Gents, May I know: is this the same Cumberland station, as depicted in MapleLeaf's payware Sandpatch route?
Kevin's scenery - great.
Scott's version looks fantastic!

Hi Folks,

Thanks...

It's Cumberland in Harlan County, Kentucky - - - not Maryland. It's the real-world hometown for the fictional character Raylan Givens of the TV Series "Justified" - well worth a watch - if you haven't seen it.

Hi Chris,

Here's the link - I can't vouch for it - as I haven't used his site in many years.
