Just to add that I AM noticing flange squeal when going around curves - It just seems to be the switch sounds that I'm not hearing.

Will the "Switch" track region sound, not also conflict with the "DemoAutoSound" switch sounds?

No, the name of the track region sound is not considered at runtime; only the position in the ttype.dat file matters.

Will the two different switch sounds not be playing at the same time?

If it helps, David, I have Carlos' sounds running perfectly on the Donner Pass route.

The OR code plays only one track sound at a time for every trainset.

Hi Gentlemen,
I believe I have now got Carlo's sounds to play correctly in the ORTS Seligman route and list the procedure below. I will not be held responsible if it messes up your installation, but it works perfectly on mine! In fact, the sounds are much better than the original SLI sounds (I've heard them in the MSTS version!).

1. Add Carlo's DemoAutoSound folder into the global SOUND folder
2. Copy welded_ex.sms, welded_in.sms, SLI_tracksnd1_ex.wav and SLI_tracksnd1_in.wav from the route's SOUND folder into the global SOUND folder
3. Add a folder named OpenRails into the BNSF_Seligman_ORTS folder
4. Add the .trk file from the attachment into this folder.
5. Replace the existing ttype.dat file with the one from the attachment.
6. If you have added the three DemoAutoSound entries to the regular BNSF_Seligman_ORTS.trk file, delete them.

Cheers,
Ged

IT WORKS!! :) Many thanks Ged. you've made my day and possibly my year! I'm now going to be busy exporting your fix to my remaining 4 TrainSimulations routes.

Can someone please advise me on the best way to reduce the volume of the sounds. They appear too load to me.

Yes I found the internal sounds especially a little overpowering. I opened up the relevant sms files and changed the first volume line at the top down to 0.5.
