Hello.

Is there any way to interact with Open Rails from an external application through some sort of API or programmatic interface to add/remove trains, change signal aspects, etc. as well as read this same data from the currently running simulation?

Much thanks, Scott.

I have looked through the manual and it talks about a web server (6.1.12) that outputs data about the game and train status, although this option is missing from the Open Rails version I am using.

Has this option been removed/deprecated? If so, why?

Is way cool.

...meaning it is a new feature, not yet in the main game.
I don't believe it alters data, just reads it (for example to a second screen or third, for example an iphone via a web server)

Hi Folks,

Yeah - the web interface works pretty well - now I run Track Viewer and the Train HUD on my iPad leaving my PC screen uncluttered ready for screenshots or video.

Kudos to the development team !!!

Regards,
Scott

It would be good to have an api function for the dispatching application.
It would be nice to create external dispatching applications

Switches
Traffic lights
Possibility to stop trains
Train speed
Player name
and other :)

Hello,
Good news, It may replace the solution I use today (source code modification plugged on python extractor) for my actual simulation on real train console.
Hope all parameters will be available too.
Is Json output available ?

it would be awesome to have it work with:
Train director
That would be a dream come true!

Yes, that's what it delivers. How that's used to populate a webpage or to drive an indicator gauge is up to you.
