You'll need some skill in c++ to accomplish anything.

IMO there are the usual small, niggling issues/bugs here but the major area in need of improvement is in the UI. Consider the tools panel that displays on the left. When you open up objects you see a very long list of shapes for the particular class you are interested in... you quickly see what you want and can select it. But it is the selected list that you work from and it is very short so stuff is always rolling off into the either. Do you spend more time searching for items or using them? For me, it is clearly the later, especially when laying roads or track. The same window size ratio is in the KUJU editor. I was able to edit the .dll for that and reversed the sizes so the search list was short and the in-use was long. It was a great change.
