Hi Carlo,

With all the heavy lifting you do around here - for years on end - with the countless hours you’ve invested to make a better sim for all of us - I would be more than happy to throw a few bucks in a hat as a contribution towards a new machine for you - all I need is a PayPal address - a ”tip jar” if you will... I’ve seen the frame rates you’ve posted on occasion and I just don’t know how you can have any real satisfaction with them being so low... It’s in all of our own best interest to keep the very few developers we have - happy... Heck - if it weren’t for overseas shipping I’m sure we could throw together a better machine from all of our spare/retired parts bins...

Regards,
Scott

Here, here Scott.
That's a bang up idea.

Hi Scott and Steve,
thank you very much for your appreciation and for your generosity. The fact that I have an old laptop (nevertheless a 17 inch dual core Asus, with improved FPS smoothness since I put all OR content into a very fast microSD) is not a constraint, but my own decision. At the moment I will decide that it's time for a new machine, for any reason, I'll buy it. Thank you again :)

Second, PLEASE HELP!

In testing I have discovered that there are several versions of d3dcompiler_47.dll that OR MG can use. It would help with testing if those of you who use Nvidia GPU can post what version of d3dcompiler_47.dll is installed in your system.

But this is a bit complicated! You see some games place d3dcompiler_47.dll in their own directories, others use the versions of d3dcompiler_47.dll installed in the Windows directory. In the Windows directory there can be several instances of d3dcompiler_47.dll in subdirectories.

What I did was a search for d3dcompiler_47.dll in C: and then when you hover your mouse cursor over the d3dcompiler_47.dll filename you can determine what version. Very Important:Please indicate from what directory you discover the instance of d3dcompiler_47.dll as well as the version.

Alas I have found out that there are more than one version installed in various places on my Win7 machine. Also, the version of d3dcompiler_47.dll affects the FPS performance in OR MG!

Carlo, I am VERY interested to know what version and from what directory OR MG is picking d3dcompiler_47.dll for 32 bit and 64 bit modes of runactivity on your setup. From what I understand and have read elsewhere, d3dcompiler_47.dll can be either a 32 or 64 bit version with the SAME filename! Correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for your help,
Steve

I am not using the same driver set, but the d3dcompiler_47.dll versions are the same for me. Do you see any difference in FPS if you are using 32 or 64 mode of runactivity?

Thanks,
Steve
