System.ArgumentException: Failed to sort. The method IComparer.Compare() returned inconsistent results.
The stack trace points to Orts.Viewer3D.RenderItem+Comparer being used in RenderItemCollection.Sort() during the rendering phase (Viewer3D.RenderFrame.Sort() → UpdaterProcess.Update()), suggesting that the comparer implementation is not returning consistent comparison results for certain objects.
Why this seems like a program bug:
The error originates entirely inside the Open Rails MG code.
A robust comparer should handle edge cases (e.g., identical distances, NaN/Infinity values) without throwing an exception.
The crash likely occurs because the comparer returns contradictory results for the same input pair during sorting.
While certain models or assets may trigger the bug, the root cause is in the sorting logic, not in the user’s files.
Recommendation for the Developers:
Review and fix the RenderItem+Comparer implementation to ensure it always returns consistent comparison results, even with unusual or invalid data, to prevent sorting exceptions and crashes.

Can you tell me if I have to download and install everything from the route's download page? I see that there is also a global. If this is not a mini-route, I wouldn't like to overwrite files in the Global folder.

I have been doing much more testing. The log shows settings and activity.
Version is U2025.08.20-1853
Sequence and results:-
Set cam2 at car1, set cam3 at car 19 ( second car from end )
press F9 to open,
press F9 to close,
go back to train, car1 and car19 still selected,
press F9 to open,
select car13,
press F9 to close,
cam2 is reset to car0, cam3 is reset to car20.
I have done this 4 times.
I will repeat the sequence with another route and activity and post later.

I have repeated the above with a different route and activity.
The results are the same.
The bug is in the select car event.

A second bug,
I have an activity that has 2 engines, numbered 0 and 1,
I have to pick up an engine along the way, numbered 0,
the engine has to be blocked behind the 2 engines,
further down the track, I have to pick up some more cars,
when I select the third engine, and hit the uncouple, it uncouples the first engine as this is the first engine numbered zero.

Yes, all files must be downloaded, except UZK_v3.22_textures.zip. Second file from the top.
Install as a mini track. First put xtrack 3.22 in the GLOBAL folder, and then copy the UZK_v3.22.zip file, the first file from the top. Let everything be overwritten.
Unzip the files Cr_090_Main_1.zip, Cr_090_Main_2.zip, Cr_090_Main_3.zip, Cr_090_Main_4.zip, Cr_090_Update_1_03-03-25.zip, Cr_090_Update_2_14-05-25.zip into the ROUTES folder.
In the SOUND folder, the default SOUND folder should be enough.
The author entered the passenger boarding time of seven minutes. When the time is entered in TT in the format 12:00-12:02, the passenger boarding time should always be two minutes.
In my case in ORNY, after the forms command, it is set to seven minutes, which are entered in the route. I haven't tried the variant 12:00 stoptime=120.

Users having not more than 4 GB RAM are suggested to run selecting general options checkbox for optional run at 32 bit on Win64.
When running on Win64, the player can select if he prefers running at 64 bit or 32 bit. In this second case RunActivity32.exe is run, and only a maximum of 4 GB of RAM can be accessed by OR. If the computer has only 4 GB RAM, selecting the option to run at 32 bit on Win64 is recommended.
Note for developers: Runactivity32.exe is not generated by building the pack, but manually doing a copy of Runactivity.exe, renaming it Runactivity32.exe, and using on the Developer Command Prompt command corflags with the modifier -32BITPREF+

When running on Win64, if you are running OR at 64 bit (option not checked) you must point ReShade to OpenRails64.exe; if you are running OR at 32 bit (option checked) you must point ReShade to OpenRails.exe.
