Can you run out of fuel in OR?

I made an actvity in MSTS many moons ago, where you had to refuel before setting out. I completely forgot about this when running the act in OR.

When i got to my destination, the fuel gauge on the hud said -67 imp gal, but the engines kept on running.

Also, the fuel pump rate when refilling the tanks was set in the MSTS route editor. I had this set quite low so it could take up to 15 minutes to refuel a DMU.

In OR, the refuel took 5 seconds. Can the fill rate be adjusted ?

Also, the max fuel for this DMU is 176 gallons which is around 146 imp gallons, the latter figure shows this on the HUD. But when refuelling the tank, it showed 176 imperial gallons.

Any thoughts on this!

Edit
The fuel tank refilling to 176 imp gallons, i could not reproduce it. The consist was a 2 engine DMU. When this did happen, i stopped at the distance required and refueled from the front engine, the rear engine refueled to 176 imp gallons. Tried this a number of times but only the front engine would refuel, i had to swap cabs to the rear engine and refuel from there, where the HUD then showed 146 imp gallons.
Must of been a fluke.

Thanks

I am pretty sure you can run out of water in a steam locomotive (which ruins it), but it may well be that other fuels (coal and diesel) do not have any consequences right now.

I think that may be the case. I found a post on this matter last january but thought it may have been implemented since then.
The fuel does continue to drop below zero. So at the moment theres no need to refuel a diesel engine.

I did notice that when pressing the T key a second time, you get a message that the oil gets filled up as well.

Thanks

Fix committed in x.3503. Now fuel level stays at 0 and diesel engines stop.

The engine now shuts down when the fuel is depleted.

If the engine uses the triggers 23 and 24, the sound also shuts down. The sound triggers also worked when the fuel reached zero in previous OR versions, even if the engines where still running due to the minus fuel bug.

Thanks
