Hi
Am running MSTS add-ons on the OR platform. Mostly it works but occasionally the loco is stuck, as if a brake is on. Lately on the simtrain.ch Arosa Bahn. I have learned, I think, the OR braking system. I check on the page where I can see brake pressure for the trainset, wait for the brake system to gain pressure, wait untill the BC pressure is 0, and nevertheless I got stuck. The motor is running, but I just get wheel slip. It can happen on diesels as well. Is this a common problem, with a simple solution, known to some of you bright guys (so far I have not noticed bright girls in this forum, or...?)
Regards
Sven
PS The 3d trains Feather River Canyon is really beautiful, and runs perfectly in OR. I like (american) diesels. Have any of you tried a nice, well modelled such route, with activities and rolling stock (free or pay ware does not matter)and could recommend it?

Arosa-Bahn:
For OR the *.eng files must be corrected.

I would recommend these freeware routes:

Over at TS.com - Pocahontas is a good start, although there are lots of great ones including London and Port Stanley, depending on what kind of experience you are looking for

Thanks AVO and LONGIRUN for the help.
Do I just replace the eng. file with the new you send me?
Do any of you know what "initialize brakes" mean?
What is a proper setting for the air pumps? 21 psi/min, or maybe more, to speed up things?
3dtrainstuff has some add-ons which look nice. But the windows requirement are XP/Vista/7. I use W 8.1. Meaning I cannot use them?

For the most part, any software that works on Windows 7 should work on Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10.

Increasing that parameter may help to speed up brake release, however most engine files have a lower limit that Open Rails uses, like:
TrainBrakesControllerMaxReleaseRate( 10 )
That will limit the rate of pressure increase in the equalizing reservoir (and the brake pipe) to 10 psi/s.
Note that the default OR parameter is 21 psi/s.
