Yes, there seems only one check to be removed.

Hopefully it's not like a dam. :sweatingbullets:

When I'll be back home tomorrow I'll prepare and attach here a test version. I don't foresee significant problems. Switching on the move from/to autopilot mode has for sure bee more difficult.

Attached you find the files allowing switch to manual mode at speed; they must replace the original ones in x.3419 or x.3420.
Volunteers are kindly asked to check that the switch works the same way like with stopped train.

Accordingly to my tests it does work.

5/2/16: Attachment removed after patch uploaded in x.3426.

I downloaded and ran the modification in 3419. I had been working on an activity for the West Colton so I stayed there. Players train starts at speed, signal clear or yellows ahead.
Switch to manual mode, next signal changes to read, tab will not give permission to pass. On another run, tab for permission appeared to work.
Switching back to Auto does not restore signals to initial state. Signals can be changed using Dispatch Viewer

I know from running this activity that there is no opposing traffic until later in the activitiy.
So in this instance the signals appear to malfunction when using the modification.

Thanks for the test.
Gerry, pls. follow the same procedure with the non modified version of OR and check if something performs differently. E.g. as far as I can see, it can occur also in the standard version that signals don't return immediately to their initial state.

I tried to reproduce your sequence, with following steps:
1) train running, auto mode, three green signals ahead
2) CTRL-M switches to auto mode, first signal goes to red
3) Tab, first signal goes to Permission granted, second signal goes to approach, third signal to red
4) First signal passed, pressing CTRL-M returns to auto mode, second and third signal remain at their state
5) second signal passed, third signal returns to green and so do next signals.

By using the unmodified x.3419 and stopping the train before switching to manual mode I have the same signal behavior. So, in my case it does work correctly.

My Mistake... It's my ignorance of signals and how they work. Yes, it works as you describe. Secondarily, there was a traffic train in the activity that was contributing to what I was experiencing.

It is a learning curve. I am a lifetime behind most everyone else in general railroading knowledge/experience and only a couple or so years using OR, so I would say....I am in the elementary phases.

No worry, Gerry. You are confirming now the results of my tests, and this is what I hoped, thank you. When the 7 days timeout will be expired, I will upload the patch.
