Is there a combination to make the dynamic brake have only two notches ie

OFF
100%

and vice-versa ?

I can only managed three notches ie:-

OFF
0%
100%

Thanks

You can try something like this, it MAY work

Dynamic Brake (....)
NumNotches ( 1
( 1.0 0 Dummy )
)

Thanks but that did not work. The dynamic brake was stuck at 100%.

Brake_Dynamic ( 0 1 0.1111 0
NumNotches ( 2
Notch ( 0 0 Dummy )
Notch ( 1 0 Dummy )
)
)

I would have thought that 3 notches are required because the dynamic system would need a bit of time to set up. Remember that dynamic braking moves the traction motors from drive to generate and even solid state switching is not instant.

Yes that is correct. However i wanted to know if two notches can be used for the dynamic brake, to have an off and on setting.
I know it's not prototypical, but is it still possible in OR via a combination in the ENG controller section ?

Having consulted the eng and wag file doc, the answer is not in the way you are trying to implement it. Assuming off is notch one, then the system requires a minimum of two more notches. One to set up the switches and one to apply. Using an OFF and an ON means the system does not get to set up and as you have found, goes straight to 100% which effectively disables the locomotive. It may be possible in the future to program the required behaviour, but it is an item that is outside of MSTS compatibility.

Is there any locomotive which have this type of setup, Dynamic braking directly to 100%...??

AFAIK none. I just wanted to know if this could happen in OR via the dynamic brake controller section.
