I am having a problem with activity for the Cajon Pass 3ML. The activity is part of a 4 part set. The Activity is called "Barstow Pick up" Whenever I try to run the activity I get the out of memory message and crash back to desktop. Can someone help me to get this working? The other 3 parts of activity work without any problem.
Thanks in advance.

Does the activity crash even before you see the train world on the screen, or does it take a little before the CTD?

Cheers, Markus

Start your task manager...see what is running. Stop what is not immediately not absolutely necessary. Also check your services manager. Usually lots of stuff like Adobe update and task scheduler, is running. End those.

Is it running out of sys mem, or video mem, I wonder?

There are suggestions about options slider settings that might help. You will need to search in the OR forum( s ) threads for the info.

Have you tried using the [F5] key in combination with the [Shift] key to get to the debug screen that tells you what is going on with memory usage? You will be able to observe what is happening for that activity memory wise. If you can post screen caps of what is going on...just before it crashes that will be helpful.

The great many tests that I have done sees OR crashing if you have an activity, where your train does not move a great distance, such as in switching/shunting. BUT, if you have many different trains coming into the area you are working in, you will run out of memory as OR does not dispose those objects, EVEN if they are no longer in view. If this is the case please post a bug report.

According to the log, you are running Windows 7 64bit. If this is the case, you should be running with the Large Address Aware option checked. The log is indicating you are not running runactivitylaa.exe. Try running with this option to see if the crashing stops.

Given the crash is in ORTS.Common.DataLogger.Data, and the data logger is an optional component, I'd try just turning it off. Not sure why it's crash there first (without any model/texture loading errors) but worth a try.

It varies, sometimes about 1 minute into activity and sometimes about 10 minutes into activity
