Hey,
I'm Tom Janssen, coming from Holland. I recently started modeling a Whitcomb 65-tonner switcher, as produced in WW2. I started with the Dutch version, but perhaps I will make an American version too, since they have much better colours than the Dutch version. I saw a video on Youtube featuring an operable 65-tonner. Does someone have high-definition photos from that machine, especially from the cab and the undercarriage? Thanks in advance.

OK, now I'm excited. I really hope you do make an American version.

I got a cab ride in one of the last one of these running in the US about 1980 when I was young.

The Washington & Old Dominion had some of these -- a W&OD route has just been released.

Unfortunately, I don't have pictures, but I did find a few on-line:

Also, this page has a number of paint schemes in the US for this locomotive:

Excellent resources, Chris, thanks for reacquainting me with a couple of them, which I lost track of http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/pardon.gifover several years and a couple of PC upgrades ago. http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/fool.gif

Cheers Bazza.

Whitcomb 65-tonner with the right colours in-game:

Looking good there!

A suggestion: desaturate the colors a little and the details will pop more and it will blend into the landscape better.

Hi Chris, wow, that is ancient (relatively) modelling history, for me. I haven't modelled in quite a while and admit I feel worse off for my absence from the hobby. Thanks for bringing this thread to my attention, because I found an important link I'd lost track of.

Currently at a loose end, so might flash up (poor choice of words there) my old XP machine and hold my breath!!

Cheers Bazza.
